The latest England Boxing apprentice community event was held at Fitness Evolution in Burnley at the weekend – with young people once again keen to get a taste for what the sport is about.
The free, come-try-me session, organised by North West apprentice Ali-Yousri Assad, was open to those age eight years or over and featured a variety of non-contact and fun games and activities.
The session was supported by local England Boxing-affiliated club Roche Boxing as attendees learned the boxing basics and got the chance to have a go on the pads.
North West and Merseyside and Cheshire Club Support Officer, Alex Vass, said: “What was great to see was that, at the end of the session, so many of those who took part were eager to attend more boxing sessions.
“Everyone had a really good time on the day and Ali did a great job in pulling the event together, which is not easy, as the apprentices only started in their roles fairly recently.
“On behalf of Ali, I would live to send a sincere vote of thanks to Roche Boxing, who came down and gave brilliant support to the session.”
“I would also like to thank Fitness Evolution for acting as the host venue.”
