Youth Worlds 2022: Team England boxers know first opponents after draw made

The 12 Team England boxers representing the country in the IBA Youth World Championships 2022 in Alicante, Spain now know their first opponents.

The draw was made today, with boxing to get underway on tomorrow (Tuesday 15th November).

There are three sessions of boxing for these early stages, starting at 12noon, 3.30pm and 7pm Spanish time (11am, 2.30pm and 6pm UK time).

The Three Lions’ opponents have been drawn against opponents as listed below.

European medallists Owen Ketley and Osama Mohamed are both in action on the opening day.

Under 50kg – Ebony Jones boxes Jessica Vollmann (Germany).

Under 52kg – Lauren Mackie boxes Ye-Jon Oh (Korea).

Under 54kg – Jayne Bardauskas boxes Shakira Donoghue (Ireland).

Under 57kg – Emily Whitworth boxes Xiomara Santamaria (Panama).

Under 81kg – Amber Moss -Birch boxes winner of Nora Komjathi (Hungary) v Sudenaz Kazan (Turkey).
