The Merseyside and Cheshire ABA provide the strategic lead of the sport ensuring we co-operate according to our Constitution and in conjunction with England Boxing Rules and Policies whilst receiving no direct funding from England Boxing.
We have a structure of Sub-Committees who cover the following areas of the sports direction and governance Coaching, Technical and Rules, Championships and Events, Officials, Discipline and Development.
The region’s geographic profile consists of the following areas and boroughs City of Liverpool, Sefton, Knowsley, St Helens, Wirral, Halton, Warrington and Cheshire, covering a total conurbation population of over
2Million people.
Merseyside and Cheshire ABA is made up of a network of over 80 clubs and projects, representing the sport in every Local Authority within the region’s geographical boundaries, brought together under the principles of OlympicStyle Boxing.
Every year of annual affiliation each club, must go through a rigorous process and deliver standards of provision, facilities and governance, whilst ensuring all policies and registration fees for coaches, boxers and officials are paid up and the relevant England Boxing polices are active and being adhered to at all times.
The region also delivers a very vibrant competition and championships calendar of events, featuring club tournaments, championships for all levels and ages groups from 11-40 years of age, including both male and female participants.
