Women’s Coach Development Programme 2023-24 open for applications!

As part of the International Women’s Day 2023 celebrations, England Boxing can confirm that the Women’s Coach Development Programme (WCDP) will be back for a third year – with those interested invited to apply with immediate effect.
Its first two years have been a huge success, with a raft of women taking their coaching to the next level by having the opportunity to learn from top England coaches and share ideas and experiences with like-minded people.
This 2023-24 cohort will see 12 coaches invited onto the programme, who must have passed their England Boxing Level 1 Coaching Course as a minimum.
For those successful in their applications, the course induction will be held at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield on Saturday 8th April.
Those enrolled on the programme will have an Individual Development Plan drawn up for them with their consultation and will benefit from their own mentor.
Practical elements will be delivered via six one-day sessions and a residential, plus an invitation to shadow at a England Performance Pathway Camp and attend the Women’s Aspire sessions.
“We can’t wait to welcome another set of coaches onto the programme because of the transformation we have seen in many who have been through it before,” said Laura Sargeant, England Boxing’s Women and Girls Officer, who leads the course.
“The strength of women’s coaching is growing all the time in boxing and what is so great is that those who have been on the course in the past have made themselves available to be mentors to help the next generation.”

Applications will close on Friday 17th March 2023 at 5pm, with successful candidates confirmed by Friday 24th March 2023.
