Ipswich Boxing Club has been awarded £1.6 million by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport’s (DCMS) Youth Investment Fund to add a state-of-the-art sports complex to their base at Murrayside Community Centre.

This new facility will become the club’s permanent home, featuring purpose-built boxing rings, punching bags, and extensive floor space on the ground floor. The renovation will also include a fully equipped gym, while a wheelchair-accessible lift will lead to a spacious second-floor area, allowing the club to host multiple sessions simultaneously and cater to a broader range of members.

The project is aiming for completion by April 2025, marking a pivotal moment for Ipswich Boxing Club. Just two years ago, the club faced the challenge of homelessness, yet now, with a new 99-year lease at Murrayside Community Centre, they’re on track for a secure and promising future.
