Eastern Counties held their junior, youth and senior development regional finals last week at the Main Event Gym in Billericay.

Held on Sunday 2nd October, the finals took place with a brand-new format following a democratic vote by members. Members elected to have an Eastern Counties hub for all regional finals, followed by a select squad match on the same day.

All participating boxers received a certificate and an Eastern Counties badge, while 51 boxers progressed to the next round of the tournament.

Following the finals, the Eastern Counties squad competed against a ‘surrounding counties select’, losing 3-2 on the day but producing a high standard of boxing and paving the way for similar events in the future.

Eastern Counties squad coach, John Dennis, hailed the new format as, “a huge success”.

The success of the event highlights the pace at which Eastern Counties are moving under the newly formed committee.
