England Performance selects 14 boxers for U19 World Boxing Championships

England Boxing is delighted to announce the 14 boxers selected to represent England Performance at the 2026 U19 World Boxing Championships in Budva, Montenegro, from 14th–28th October.

The squad heads to Montenegro on the back of another hugely successful European campaign and is packed with international experience, including seven medallists from the recent U19 European Championships in Serbia.

The team features European champions Yashua Flemming, Reuben Huczmann and Albe Dowell, alongside European silver medallist Lexie Walker and bronze medallists Siobhan Haley, Shannon Warren and Thabiso Moyo.

Jaya Kalsi, who won bronze at the U19 Futures Cup, is selected, alongside experienced internationals Serena Mali and Rihanna Holden. Brayden Dyer, George Francis and Kai Cairns all earn places in the team, with Cairns returning after recovering from the injury that cut short his U19 European Championships campaign.

Rounding off the squad is Kobe Clarke, who makes his own return to international competition after injury ruled him out of the European Championships earlier this summer. Having worked his way back to fitness, the England boxer is ready to fulfil a lifelong ambition in Montenegro.

Speaking on his selection, Clarke said: “It’s a dream come true for me to be representing England at the World Championships.

“I competed in and won the 4 Nations earlier this year and was in a really good place ahead of the Euros, only to pick up an injury at the selections that then ruled me out.

“Thankfully the recovery was quick, and I was able to train and rehab fully through the summer, and that hard work has paid off with a place in the team for Montenegro.

“It’s been a dream of mine since I was very young to be an England boxer, and I can’t put into words how proud I am to wear the England vest again and to represent England Boxing, my club, and my family on the biggest of stages.

“The team have been working extremely hard through the prep period, and we are a solid unit and ready to show our very best performances when the tournament starts.”

European bronze medallist Siobhan Haley also returns to the international stage, with the World Championships representing the biggest tournament of her England career to date: “I’m proud to be picked for the U19 World Championship this year by England Performance.

“I’ve had a lot of experience with England at competitions over the years, but this is the biggest opportunity I’ve been given, and I can’t wait to show the world what I’m capable of.

“The team and I have been putting the work in, and we’re ready to take over and show we are the best nation.”

Mick Maguire will lead the squad in Budva, assisted by coaches Niki Wiley, Bobby Miltiadous, Richie Ghent, and Katie Flynn.
