New Eastern Counties role for Le Guével

Alex Le Guével has been appointed as England Boxing’s Club Support Officer (CSO) for the Eastern Counties.
A familiar face to many involved in amateur boxing, Alex (pictured above, right) has been the East Midlands CSO for the past three years – a role he will continue to fulfil alongside his additional responsibilities within Essex, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk & Hertfordshire.
Away from his role with England Boxing, he is heavily involved in both the amateur and professional aspects of the sport with the Northampton based Team Shoe-Box.
Alex brings a wealth of sports development experience to the role, having worked in a Local Authority, Further Education and Active Partnership setting prior to joining England Boxing.
He is also a qualified amateur boxing coach, Licensed Second with the BBBofC and previously acted as a Consultant to The Frank Bruno Foundation, writing their Round by Round Programme and being instrumental in helping to secure the charity their first permanent home.
“I’m really excited to be taking over the reins in Eastern Counties”, he said. “My predecessors, Tom Paget (pictured above, left) – and, more recently, Ron Tulley on an interim basis – have done a wonderful job supporting the region’s clubs and I can’t wait to continue and build on this.”
“I’m incredibly passionate about the sport and I’ve seen first hand the impact that boxing has, inspiring and transforming lives across a broad range of individuals and in many of the country’s most deprived areas.”
“I’m familiar with a number of people and clubs across the region already, but I can’t wait to meet and help many more in the coming weeks and months.”
