All clubs need an appointed and trained club welfare officer, and must ensure that all coaches are trained in basic safeguarding awareness.
Not only is this vital good practice, but it is also a requirement of the government safeguarding guidance; ‘Working Together’, and forms part of England Boxing’s safeguarding procedures.
Recognising this requirement not only contributes to the richness of the club and well-being of its members, but also drastically reduces the risk of the club falling foul of litigation in the event that an incident occurs.
Club Welfare Officers (CWOs) and all coaches are required to attend a three-hour Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop or the Online Safeguarding Course delivered as e-Learning, and Club Welfare Officers are also required to attend a UK Coaching Time to Listen workshop, which can be booked separately. The minimum age to attend a course is 16.
Please be aware we cannot accept any online courses for Safeguarding or First Aid except our own bespoke England Boxing Safeguarding e-Learning Course.
