GRAB Gets Green Light

England Boxing are delighted to announce the launch of Grassroots Amateur Boxing Lottery (GRAB), an exciting new fundraising initiative for member clubs. The lottery will be a great way for people to support England Boxing member clubs whilst having fun and getting the chance to win cash prizes.

Leading lottery management company, Gatherwell, have been appointed by England Boxing to run the scheme, having already launched similar lotteries elsewhere.

When the lottery launches next month, people can purchase tickets online and support the member club of their choice.

Tickets will cost £1 a week and the draw will be weekly with a jackpot of £25,000 and other prizes being £2,000, £250 and £25.

England Boxing member clubs will soon be invited to register to raise funds with GRAB and keep 40% of every ticket they sell to club supporters who could be members, friends, family, or locals wanting to give back to their community.

A further 20% of every ticket will go towards supporting England Boxing-affiliated grassroots projects, while the remainder will go towards prizes, operating costs, and VAT.

England Boxing’s Head of Operations Avoen Perryman said: “I am so pleased to announce the launch of the Grassroots Amateur Boxing Lottery. This platform is available for all EB-affiliated clubs to sign up to free of charge and it can help them add a new and sustainable revenue stream to help keep their doors open for years to come.

“With new partners in place such as BOXXER and Rematch Live, as well as more in the pipeline, it is our mission to promote the GRAB Lottery to the network of supporters beyond EB’s clubs and members.

“We aim to ask the 1.5 million fans of our sport, as well as members of the public, to help our clubs continue to not just survive but to thrive in supporting some of the most disadvantaged young people in the country to stay physically active.

“In 2020, I oversaw the launch of the KO-Covid19 campaign which supported 100+ clubs to raise over £130k in just over 3 months. With the added incentive of a weekly winner receiving up to £25,000 and our ever-growing network of supporters outside of our traditional members, I am truly excited at the prospect of our clubs raising well-needed funds in this new and exciting way.
