EUBC Junior European Boxing Championships 2018 – day 3 results and day 4 schedule

The momentum continues for this young England team, with eight winning their bouts and at least four medals confirmed.
54kg Ellis Price v Stefan Camovic (Serbia) – won 5:0
Supremely confident, Ellis was always first to the punch in this contest as he picked off the Serbian on route to a shut out points win.
57kg Junaid Bostan v Bendeguz Szigetvari (Hungary) – won 5:0
Good ring presence and efficient shot selection were the order of the day as Junaid looked impressive over the six minutes of ring action.
60kg Adam Azim v Paddy Murphy (Wales) – won RSC Rd2
Heavy handed Adam Azim produced arguably the championships performance of the day with his powerful shots. After forcing a standing eight count in the second, Adam followed up with a thunderous right hook to fell his opponent which lead to the referee terminating the contest in the English boxers favour.
63kg George Bance v Elmir Novruzov (Azerbaijan) – won 5:0
A sharp first round with neat defensive skills set George on his way to victory against a tough opponent.
48kg QF Megan Bainbridge v Iryna Vinahradava (Belarus) – won RSC Rd2
Stiff and straight shots pierced the guard of the Belarusian effectively culminating in a standing eight count in the second round and the referees stoppage in favour of Megan, who secures guaranteed bronze in the process.
50kg QF Holly Heffron v Viktorija Silke (Latvia) – lost 0:5
Holly put in a game showing against a tough Latvian with a gutsy last round making it a far closer outcome than the unanimous points decision would suggest.
80kg Emily Asquith v Sena Kosaoglis (Turkey) – won 5:0
Emily dominated against the shorter southpaw Turk forcing standing eight counts in rounds two and three. Thus securing England’s first medal of these championships, with Emily booking her place in Monday’s semi-finals.
52kg QF Courtney Scott v Niamh Fay (Ireland) – won 3:2
In a great advert for junior girls boxing, Courtney edged the first two rounds with superb counter punching against an imposing Irish boxer. Guaranteed bronze was Courtney’s reward is a close contest.
54kg Sameenah Toussaint v Maria Vanconetti (Italy) – won 5:0
A standing eight in the second against the Italian and an all-round composed showing saw Sameenah cruise to a guaranteed bronze medal.
