EUBC Junior European Boxing Championships 2018 – day 4 results and day 5 schedule

Some great performances on day four by the English boxers, with four from the six winning their bouts but all should be proud of their performances.

60kg Danielle Marshall v Daniela Golino (Italy) – won 5:0

After quiet opener, Danielle found her rhythm and confidence at the same time as she pulled away in rounds two and three to secure a guaranteed bronze.

+80kg William Howe v Timur Avdoian (Russia) – lost 1:4

William started well, taking the first round with blinding hand speed.  In reply, the big Russian dragged William into toe to toe exchanges, ultimately edging him out.

57kg Sacha Hickey v Vicktoria Sawatzki  (Germany) – won 5:0

In an all southpaw clash, Sacha always came on strong in the second half of the rounds to score a deserved unanimous points decision and a guaranteed bronze in the process.

63kg Ciara Hodnett v Rumeysa Atas (Turkey) – lost 0:5

Ciara posted a cracking last round which was awarded to her by all five judges, however the earlier work from the strong Turk was just enough to take the overall verdict.

46kg Alex Brown v Anastasiia Kirienko (Russia) – won 4:1

In a clash of styles, it would be Alex’s clearer scoring shots that would edge her towards an outstanding result against a tall southpaw boxer from the host nation.

75kg Tommy Dixon Won Hrant Torosyan  (Armenia) – won RSC Rd1

Tommy floored the Armenian with his opening combination to bring about a referee stopped contest outcome inside ten seconds. Awesome!
