The county of Lancashire has now moved into the very high / tier 3 Coronavirus level, with new restrictions taking effect from tomorrow (Saturday 17th October).

It’s our understanding (without seeing the full government guidance) that both adults and under-18s can continue to box indoors at Lancashire clubs, providing England Boxing guidelines are observed and clubs ensure there is no mixing of households (i.e boxers must train and exercise individually with no group exercises and arrive and leave the gym separately).

For the avoidance of doubt, pad work, sparring or competitive boxing is not permitted.

This contrasts to the Liverpool City Region where the government / council have ruled that boxing gyms can stay open only for the organised training of under-18s.

Any additional changes or clarifications will be communicated directly with clubs and via the England Boxing website and social media platforms.
