Tribute: Derek Chandler

England Boxing has been saddened to learn of the passing of Derek Chandler.
Derek had a long-standing history in amateur boxing in the Western Counties region after getting into boxing as a schoolboy and going on to box in the Merchant Navy.
He had an active part in the Percy Boys Club in Bath for many years, attended numerous tournaments with the Bristol Schoolboys and most recently served as a judge in the Western Counties.
His son Andrew said: “He loved boxing his whole life and I’m certain he impacted many lives in the sport.”
Derek’s funeral service will take place at 12.15pm on Tuesday 18th July 2023 at the Haycombe Crematorium in Bath.
England Boxing would like to send its heartfelt condolences to Derek’s family and friends at this sad time.
