A new England Boxing-affiliated club has opened its doors in Camden, London.

Hawley ABC, the sister club of Westminster-based Rathbone ABC, was set up in the neighbouring borough by the Rathbone team.

The club will operate from the impressive Camden Boxing Club, a high-end commercial boxing gym that launched on Wednesday 1st September.

Hawley founder, Rachel Bower, said: “We would like to thank The Boxing House (who owns Rathbone and Camden Boxing clubs) for their support in reaching our local communities.

“We realised at Rathbone ABC that we were in a rare and fortunate position to deliver amateur sessions in state-of-the-art facilities, so jumped at the chance to replicate that in Camden.

“We also benefit from piggy-backing onto their website and booking system and tapping into the generosity of their patrons when fundraising.”

The two clubs will operate independently, coming together on Friday evenings for joint sparring sessions at the larger Camden gym.

John Crossman, the Head Coach for Hawley ABC, added: “I can’t wait to start building the amateur team, but first we are delivering lots of outreach sessions in the hope that we recruit the next generation of boxers.”

The club has already secured partnerships with Boxwise and Ramla Ali Sisters Club to deliver free sessions to local young people and women and girls, and obtained funding from The National Lottery to kick start outreach into the Camden community.
