Euro Under-22 Champs 2022: Tyers bows out as trio of England women prepare for battle

England’s Joe Tyers bowed out on day five of the EUBC European Under-22 Championships in Porec, Croatia.
The Billingham Boxing Academy man was beaten on a 4-0 split decision by Georgian opponent Lasha Gagnidze in the Under 63.5kg category.
“It could have gone either way, but I didn’t box my best, so no excuses,” he said. “I will go back home, get my head down and, as always, go again.”
Today’s day six action sees all three remaining England boxers in action.
Savannah Stubley (Empire) is first to go at Under 50kg as she takes on Giordana Sorrentino (approx 1.45pm UK time).
Sameenah Toussaint (New Kings) will then take on Vanuhi Manasyan of Georgia at Under 57kg (approx 2pm UK time).
In the evening session, Olivia Holmes (Rotunda) will do battle at Under 54kg against Selma Friga of France (approx 5.30pm UK time).
