England Boxing and BOXXER have joined together in support of amateur boxing by providing England Boxing members and clubs with a range of benefits, representing a commitment from the professional boxing company investing directly back into its grassroots.
The partnership will include:
- Free tickets for hundreds of lucky England Boxing members over the coming year
- A video showcase of 10 England Boxing clubs on both partners’ platforms
- 10% reinvestment of every ticket sold through England Boxing back into the NGB
- Opportunities for boxers and clubs to meet their heroes, receive free equipment, and make memories that will inspire a generation.
England Boxing’s Head of Operations, Avoen Perryman, is looking forward to the benefits that grassroots boxing will see: “I am so pleased to see this partnership come to fruition for the benefit of our clubs and members as well as England Boxing itself.
“This was a team effort, so I’d like to thank all the staff at BOXXER and Ben Shalom for recognising the vital work our clubs do every week.
“I’d also like to give special thanks to Lynsey Lockey, former Competitions and Events Manager for England Boxing, at ‘Steel Sports MGMT’ for connecting us with BOXXER and helping to make this all happen.
“The partnership we have in place with BOXXER is the first of its kind and it’s a pleasure to see the professional ranks actively seeking to ensure that grassroots boxing continues to produce world-renowned boxers for years to come.”
England Boxing and BOXXER chose to launch their partnership announcement at Feltham ABC, where England Boxing Community Apprentice and former Clink to Club participant, James Kilobo, has been working, alongside the club, to deliver weekly training sessions for local disabled children.
The Southern Counties apprentice said he’s looking forward to seeing how the partnership develops:
“It’s great that England Boxing and BOXXER chose to showcase Feltham for the launch of this partnership.
“It’s been an honour to run the disability sessions here and it’s great to see how much the participants get into it and enjoy it.
“I think this partnership can only be a positive thing for grassroots boxing and I’m looking forward to seeing the benefits of it in the near future.”
This represents the first of many clubs showcases to come in partnership with BOXXER, where we look forward to putting the club’s community engagement work in the spotlight for the fans of the sport and the broader public to see, giving our volunteers and members the recognition they deserve.
