England Boxing Talent Programme welcomes Youth boxers to an Open Talent Day

England Boxing’s Talent Programme is hosting an Open Talent Day (OTD) for Youth male and female boxers on Sunday 3^rd March, following the conclusion of the England Boxing National Youth Championships 2019.

The OTDs are designed to identify talented boxers that may not have been scouted during these nationals to take into account two highly-rated boxers meeting in the early stages of the competition and others unable to enter due to injury.

This is the fifth year the days have been run by the Talent Pathway, and a number of boxers that have gone on to compete internationally through this route.

Each boxer will be assessed on technical and tactical skills, using a rating system, and will receive feedback from the England Boxing coaches on the day.

Boxers will also have the opportunity to spar and train alongside Talent Pathway boxers, allowing England coaches and the boxers to gauge what level they are at in relation to the international circuit.

Boxers who meet the required assessment levels will be invited onto the England Talent Programme.

Registration is open until 5pm on Sunday 24^th February

Please note: To be assessed, you must register via one of the links below and, due to demand, no late entries will be considered.

The minimum entry criteria for all boxers

They must:

• Be a British Citizen
• Be a member of an affiliated England Boxing Club and registered on the Vault
• Hold a valid BCR1 (which will need to be shown on the day)
• Be injury-free to attend the camp, as boxers will need to participate in all activities in order to be assessed
• Born in 2001 or 2002
• Within 2kg of declared competition weights.

Youth Men Minimum Additional Criteria

• 52kg-70kg (inclusive), a minimum of 15 bouts. All other weights. a minimum of 10 bouts
• Have a minimum of 70% win-loss ratio in the last 24 months
• Have entered the England Boxing National Championships in 2018 or 2019.

Youth Women Minimum Additional Criteria

• Had a minimum of two bouts
• Have a minimum win loss ratio of 20% or higher in the last 24 months
• Have entered the England Boxing National Championships in 2018 or 2019.
