Online programme to support Ethnically Diverse Coaches
January 21, 2021 | by Matt Halfpenny
A new Ethnically Diverse Coach Development Programme is being launched by England Boxing in 2021.
The programme is open to any coach who has achieved an England Boxing coaching qualification and is a currently-registered member of the NGB, or was registered at the end of the 2019-20 season.
The long-term aim is to increase and support an ethnically diverse coaching team within England.
The programme – set to start in late February or early March – will be delivered via online group learning using Zoom or Microsoft Teams (coaches need to have access to a smart phone, tablet or laptop device) over four months, with two sessions per month.
Between sessions coaches will be required to reflect and explore topics and themes and be prepared to feedback to the group.

“What we are keen to do is support coaches from ethnically diverse backgrounds and create a community to assist their progression within the England Boxing coaching pathway,” said England Boxing’s Coaching Consultant, Chris Porter.
The programme is part of England Boxing’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
