Western Counties triumph in annual match with Navy

Western Counties faced the Royal Navy in an annual match, held by the Bristol Sporting Club, on Monday night.
The Bristol Sporting Club was formed in 1967 by a group of Bristol-based business men to promote and encourage amateur boxing which, at the time, had very little support.
Since then, countless international boxers and competitors have gone on to secure professional honours.
The latest contenders walked out to box at the glittering Bristol Hotel, where Sporting Club members were treated to nine contests, consisting of two support bouts and seven in the team match.
It saw the Western Counties clinch a 6-1 overall win, with the results as follows:

Usamah Zaman (Downend – Bristol) lost on points to Mne Callum Shaw
Ben Andrews (Torbay) won on points against Mne Tom Hooley
George Scutt (Blue Flames – Taunton) won on points against Mne Tariq Campbell
Zac Fells (Plympton) won on points against Mne Lee McMaster
Jordan Cogley (Devonport) won on points against Mne Graham Rowley
Jack Bannister (Baker Street – Gloucester) won on points against L/Cpl McCormack Farrell.
