England Boxing has issued an update to members regarding courses, training and medicals.

It continues to push the UK Government’s Department for Digital, Culture and Sport (DCMS) regarding a permitted return to contact and competitive boxing and, as and when further information is available, will update accordingly.

England Boxing is also waiting on further information regarding training courses etc. The information provided below will continued to be reviewed as and when more information becomes available, but in order to provide some clarity now, the following can be confirmed:

England Boxing Training Courses

These will be postponed until at least 1st November. Members are reminded that the requirement to have undertaken the refresher course or passed the level two courses, three years after passing EB level one course will be delayed until 1st June 2021.  Should there be an queries regarding this please contact the office using the following email: administration@englandboxing.org

Mental Health Advice and Bite Size Online Courses

Advice on mental health support can be found here. Details on the England Boxing Box in Mind Bitesize course can be found here.

Safeguarding Courses

Those who have a safeguarding certificate that expires on or before 31st October, alongside those which expired between 1st April and 31st August, will now have until 31st January to complete a new course. For the avoidance of doubt, there is no extension in regards to DBS certificates.

First Aid Courses

As with safeguarding courses, those whose certificate expire on or before the 31st October will now have until 31st January to complete a new course.

Medicals

We originally allowed a medical extension until 30th September. We continue to review the situation based on the information available to us and will update as soon as we can and hopefully after we get boxing return clarification from DCMS.

We are also aware that doctors continue to remain extremely busy and their availability can be limited during this time. We can also confirm that we will once again be providing the Regional Medical subsidy to each Region.

Queries

Once again, England Boxing thanks members for their ongoing support during this extremely difficult time. Should there be any queries, then please contact the England Boxing Office on 0114 2235654 or email: enquiries@englandboxing.org
