England Boxing is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Paul Eddy, a cherished figure in the Ferryhill community. Paul, who passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 3, surrounded by his loved ones, was born on November 23, 1972.

He is fondly remembered for his dedication to supporting young people through his club, ‘Seconds Out Academy,’ which he founded and led as head coach. Paul’s coaching journey began at Spennymoor Boxing Club, where his son trained many years ago. He later went on to establish his own club, where he passionately promoted the ‘Knives Down, Gloves Up’ initiative.

In addition to coaching, Paul played a key role in delivering England Boxing’s Safeguarding courses for his region, drawing on his extensive professional knowledge. He was also a talented artist, known for creating custom glove artwork for many within the Tyne Tees and Wear region and beyond.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 18, at St. Paul’s Church, Spennymoor, at 11:15 am, open to all who wish to pay their respects. The remembrance will continue at the Tudhoe Victory Club, where friends and family are invited to gather for food and drinks.

Together with England Boxing, the Tyne Tees and Wear committee expressed that Paul will be dearly missed by all and a big loss to his boxing friends and community. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this sad time.
