Surbiton Boxing Club is hoping to boost membership numbers after holding a successful open day earlier this month.
The England Boxing-affiliated club offers gym facilities and a warm welcome from complete beginners to seasoned competitors.
Both male and female coaches took Junior and Senior sessions at the open day as an outside boxing ring was set up to complement the indoor facilities.
“Anyone is welcome here, whether you want to be a competitive amateur boxer who wants to go on to compete in the Olympics, or you’re interested in the non-contact side and want to get fit and punch away some of the day’s stresses,” said Head Coach Harry Morris.
Coaches at Surbiton are keen to help people who walk through their doors develop their self-confidence and also work through any anxieties or mental health issues they may have.
The open day saw the families of existing members were invited along so that they could see how their relatives trained.
Strength and Conditioning Coach Matt Didge said: “The day was a great success. We had a lot of new faces and we wanted to encourage as many people as we could to come down and see what we were about.”
