Over the weekend, 24 senior female boxers gathered for the fourth Aspire session of the year. The group featured participants with varying levels of experience, all eager to dive into a dynamic and action-packed day of training.

The workshop was led by England Boxing Coaches: Kerry Chalk, John Hodkinson, Carl Ellis, Kate Newton, and Bobby Miltiadous, with additional support from the Women’s Coach Development Programme alumni. The day focused on refining the boxers’ “before and after” skills in the ring, with multiple training stations designed to deliver targeted development and enhance skills.

The boxers and coaches in attendance represented all nine regions of England, bringing together a vibrant and supportive atmosphere. Their dedication and teamwork were highlighted throughout the day, fostering an environment where skills were sharpened, and confidence grew.

Reflecting on the year, Women and Girls Officer, Laura Sargeant said: “I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the club boxers and coaches who have taken part in the 2024 sessions, as well as, the coaches from the Pathway and Women’s Coach Development Programme (WCDP).

These sessions have been instrumental in fostering development and networking opportunities for the women and girls who attend and would not be possible without the invaluable support of all the coaches involved. I’d also like to especially recognise Kerry Chalk, who has been outstanding as the lead this year. It has been a privilege to support her along the way.”
