The hard work starts again
Reigning Junior European Champion Humza Malik (Repton) is aiming to repeat his gold medal-winning feat in Sarajevo: “It’s a big achievement being selected for the Europeans and representing my country at a major competition again.
“All the hard work starts again with good preparation to get me and my team members ready to bring back medals.
“I can’t wait to bring back another gold medal for my country.”
No greater honour
Phil Thomas School of Boxing’s Rihanna Holden is looking forward to competing alongside some familiar faces but is under no illusions as to how hard the task ahead is: “There is no greater honour than being chosen to represent your country in your sport of choice.
“I’ve been selected twice before but you can never take anything for granted so I intend to show England Boxing that they have, once again, made the right decision to put their trust in me.
“I’m a three-time National Champion but boxing at the international level is a different league. The preparation training is always hard, and this year will be no different, especially as I’m now boxing in the junior category, but it’s what I love, and I learn so much every year.
“I can’t wait to meet up with this year’s team, especially as some members are from the teams in 2022 and 2023.”
