Day 2 of the Youth Olympic Games ended with another two victories after both Hope and Caroline claimed unanimous wins to join Hassan and Karol in today’s semi-finals.

52kg Hope Price v  ALG (Hichem Maouche) – won 5:0

Hope had to overcome an immediate charge from the Algerian at the start of the opening round before settling into his boxing rhythm to dictate the distance of the contest with his well-timed punches.  Every judge awarded Hope each round on their scorecards as he secured his place in the semi-finals.

60kg Caroline Dubois v TUN (Mawada Taghouti) – won 5:0

Caroline showed her boxing finesse as well as power-house punching during the opening minutes resulting in the referee issuing two standing eight-counts in the first round alone. Caroline then slowed down the pace in the second and third round to pick her punches well as she went on to add to her unbeaten record – claiming a unanimous decision and joining her three team mates into today’s semi-finals.
