A new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion page has now gone live on the England Boxing website.

It underlines the organisation’s commitment to ensuring everyone is made to feel welcome in the sport – regardless of background, ethnicity, age, gender, beliefs or any disability a person may have.

Detailed is the review that took place in 2021, and the seven recommendations that were subsequently made, as well as how to raise any concerns you may have around discrimination.

Also included is a cultural calendar dates for 2023 and a number of inclusive opportunities that are currently available to boxers, coaches and officials.

“Our commitment to thinking about the importance of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion across everything we do as an organisation is now key pillar of our strategic plan, with this website page just one small part of that,” said England Boxing’s Equality Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Bevis Allen.

“Already since the initial review, there has been the establishment of an EDI sub-committee and all seven recommendations made by the review have been either implemented or are in the process of being implemented, so there is a determination from all involved to ensure key issues continue to remain in focus.

“It is intended that the page will be reviewed, updated and added to on a regular basis in the future to keep abreast of the needs of our membership and stakeholders.”
