October 21, 2021 | by Matt Halfpenny
The England Talent Junior Champions Days have been rearranged for Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th November, it can be confirmed.
Two separate days have been organised – one for boys and one for girls – at the same Tamworth Boxing Club venue, B79 7RH.
Winners of open class titles at the England Boxing National Junior Championships, now on 30th and 31st October, will receive a formal invitation, in recognition of their success, to attend one of the following sessions:
Saturday 13th November – Boys.
Sunday 14th November – Girls.
Both sessions will run from 10.30am to 4pm and it should be noted that these days apply only to the open class and not development boxers.
Any boxers who are a sole entry at their weight will also be invited to Champions Day.
The Champions Days will be led by the England Talent coaching team and will include a welcome, practical boxing training, including sparring, and educational elements.
England Development Coach Amanda Coulson said: “As with the Schools boxers, while we are unable to offer the chance to formally be on the England Talent Pathway this year, because of the issues caused by Covid-19, we are delighted that we can provide this alternative opportunity.
“It will give National Junior Championship winners in open categories a taste of what it is like to be on the pathway and what it involves ahead of the expectation that the Talent Pathway will be back in place in full in 2022.”
Further information about the Junior Champions Days will be given to winning boxers at the England Boxing National Junior Championships 2021.
Information for England Boxing Youth National Championship 2021 winners will follow in due course.
