Interest is hotting up in the England Boxing Women’s Winter Box Cup 2019 – and you are invited to be there too!

Almost 70 boxers have already entered the competition, which will be held at the Guildford Spectrum on Saturday 7th and Sunday December 8.

They include those from Norway, the Netherlands, Ireland and across England, while the British Army are set to enter a team too.

The first all-female boxing event of its type in the UK was held for the first time last year, attracting almost 190 entries.

“The response so far has been great and we have had indications that clubs from all over Europe are keen to compete,” said Competitions and Events manager Lynsey Lockey.

“Last year’s event was a brilliant advert for women’s boxing and we’re keen to build on that and put on an even better weekend this time around.”

“We would encourage anyone wanting to take part to get their entries in as soon as possible as only a limited number of places will be available.”

Entries are open to Juniors (born 2003 and 2004), Youth (born 2001 and 2002) and Senior boxers (born 1979 to 2000) and is priced at £20 per entry.

Last year’s winners included World and European Youth Champion Gemma Richardson (Scunthorpe ABC) and European Junior champion Courtney Scott (Headland ABC).

Spectators will be welcome to attend, with prices and full details to be released closer to the event.
