England Boxing has been named as a Finalist at next year’s Learning Awards which will be hosted at JW Marriott Grosvenor House, London on 22nd February.
The prestigious event seeks to provide those working in learning and development with the ultimate accolade – a commemorative trophy and a digital badge in recognition of their work.
The England Boxing Apprenticeship Programme is up for the ‘Apprenticeship Programme of the Year’ Award and will go head-to-head with the likes of Marks & Spencer and the London Ambulance Service to name a few.
The Programme was first created in 2022 in partnership with Coach Core to upskill young people (aged between 16-25) from all over the nation during a fifteen month period and was made possible due to the support from Sport England’s Birmingham 2022 Sport Participation, Innovation and Digital Fund.
Coach Core are a social mobility charity working across the UK who use the long-term power of sport and Apprenticeships to truly change the lives of young adults experiencing barriers, discrimination and lack of opportunities.
The first cohort of apprentices gave ten teenagers the chance to work across the organisation whilst this year’s has added a further three roles – one of which involves an exciting position at the England Boxing head office in the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.
The winners of the prestigious event will be announced on the night, all of whom have been shortlisted from a record-breaking number of entries from 36 countries.
