England Boxing has officially become one of the first six members of World Boxing, the new international boxing federation launched to keep boxing in the Olympics and further the development of the sport.

England Boxing has been granted full membership status and, as a National Governing Body, will attend the inaugural World Boxing Congress in November 2023.

As a full member, England Boxing will have voting rights at the congress and can nominate candidates for offices within the new international federation including the Presidency and Executive Committee and membership of Committees and Commissions.

Richard Brooke, Chair of England Boxing, said “England Boxing has supported World Boxing since its inception in April 2023 and now looks forward to collaborating with the federation to create a clear pathway for our boxers. We have a duty to our members to ensure that the sport remains at the heart of the Olympic movement and will work with World Boxing to achieve that goal.”
