Dates change for GB Junior and Youth Three Nations 2020
January 9, 2020 | by Matt Halfpenny
The GB Junior and Youth Three Nations 2020 has been switched to Saturday 30th May and Sunday 31st May, England Boxing can confirm.
The move from the original dates of Saturday 2nd May and Sunday 3rd May has been made to avoid the risk of clashing with dates for the EUBC European Youth Championships 2020, which although are still to be confirmed, are expected to be staged around that time.
The venue, however, will remain the same – the Yorkshire region’s Barnsley Metrodome, Queens Ground, Queens Road, Barnsley, S71 1AN, which successfully staged the GB Schools Three Nations 2019 (pictured above).
The GB Junior and Youth Three Nations 2020 is an invitation-only event where England’s boxers compete with their counterparts from Scotland and Wales for the right to be called the best in Britain.
Entry is by invitation only, with selection based on performances in whichever England Boxing National Championships is relevant.
Three Nations competitions are also contested at Schools and Elite level, with each of the countries taking turns to host each.
This year, Wales will host the Elite version from Thursday 21st to Saturday 23rd May, while Scotland will stage the School from Friday 12th June to Sunday 14th June.
