Gemma Richardson has added the EUBC European Under 22 Championships 2021 to her impressive list of titles after victory in her lightweight (Under 60kg) final in Roseto, Italy.
The Scunthorpe boxer secured a unanimous decision victory over Ukraine’s Amia Abramova, meaning she has added this latest accolade to a string of successes at Youth and Junior level.
Richardson’s who cut a determined figure as she made her way to the ring, took charge early in the contest and landed some sharp combinations to take the opening round 4-1.
Her work was even more impressive in the second round as she controlled the centre of the ring and picked off her Eastern European opponent at regular intervals to give her a clean sweep on the judges’ scorecards.
And the English boxer maintained her dominance in the third round to again get the nod from all five judges to leave her a clear winner, made more emphatic by virtue of Abramova being deducted a point by the referee.
England Boxing would like to add its congratulations to Gemma on her superb success.
