Apprentices and Olympian Come Together for Coach Core Celebration

England Boxing apprentices, Madeline Gittins and Alys Ball recently went on an exciting trip to London as part of the celebrations for Coach Core’s Project 1500.
This milestone event marked the significant achievement of supporting 1,000 apprentices through the foundation’s various programmes, which aim to inspire and empower young people through sport and education.
The day was made even more special by the presence of former Olympic Track and Field Olympian, Christine Ohuruogu, who lent her support during the event. In her speech, Ohuruogu highlighted the amazing impact Coach Core has had on the lives of young apprentices, helping them to develop essential skills, confidence, and career opportunities. She also commended the dedication of the apprentices and wished them continued success in their journeys for the future.
Speaking at the event boxing activation, Gittins said, “It’s great to see just how far all of us have come, without organisations like Coach Core and England Boxing working together none of this would be possible. I’m forever grateful that I get to combine my passion with my job, although it can be challenging sometimes balancing it all, I wouldn’t change a thing.”
The trip served as a recognition of the hard work and progress of apprentices like Gittins and Ball, while also shining a light on the broader positive influence of Coach Core in communities across the country.
