The England Boxing Cost of Living Crisis Fund – supported by Revolut, the UK’s fastest-growing fintech company – is supporting 28 clubs to the tune of £25,000. Coastal boxing club Workington ABC are one of the clubs to benefit.

Workington Amateur Boxing Club has a long and rich history of providing amateur boxing opportunities to the young people in their area.

They currently have around 60 members, from the age of six upwards, with a rising number of members choosing to participate in competitive boxing.

Workington applied for the England Boxing Cost of Living Crisis Fund, supported by Revolut, due to the downturn in membership income as a result of the cost of living crisis itself.

Despite the struggles, the club are supportive of any member facing financial hardships and doesn’t turn anyone away due to their inability to pay.

Workington’s treasurer, Amanda Rowell, says the funding has reduced the financial stress on the club.

“We applied for the funding due to the downturn in membership income as a result of the cost of living crisis.

“It has helped us to alleviate our financial strains and provide ongoing stability for the Club.”
