England Boxing can confirm it has been instructed that boxing clubs must close their doors during the government’s second national lockdown, brought in to stem the Coronavirus Pandemic, which commences at 00.01am on Thursday 5th November.

It has been indicated that this lockdown will remain in place for at least four weeks, until Wednesday 2nd December.

Until the start of the lockdown, clubs can continue to operate so long as they are COVID-secure and are following any extra instructions as outlined by the government’s tier system and previously communicated to the clubs concerned by England Boxing.

With regard to outdoor exercise from 5th November, individuals are permitted to train outside in a public space, such as a park, providing they remain socially distanced by at least two metres from others. They can also exercise outdoors with people from their own household / support bubble. Individuals can also train outdoors with one other person from outside of their household, providing social distancing is strictly followed. For the avoidance of doubt, no pad work or sparring is allowed.

Any additional changes or clarifications will be communicated directly with clubs and via the England Boxing website and social media platforms.
